The F-B-I has released surveillance images and video of an individual described as armed in connection with the kidnapping of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, as federal authorities continue efforts to locate her and identify the suspect believed to be involved in her disappearance.

The images and video were shared publicly by –F-B-I Director Kash Patel, who urged members of the public to carefully review the footage and report any information that could assist investigators. According to the FBI, the individual is considered dangerous, and the public has been warned not to approach the suspect.
In the released footage, the individual appears wearing dark clothing and is seen moving through what authorities believe may be a residential area. The FBI is keeping a crucial detail under wraps — refusing to reveal the exact location where the footage was recorded as the investigation moves forward.

Officials say the secrecy is deliberate, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation. They have confirmed, however, that the material forms part of a broader effort to track the suspect’s movements.
Additional images were later shared through the F-B-I Most Wanted account, which again described the individual as armed and urged anyone with information to contact authorities immediately.
The case has also drawn attention at the federal level. The White House amplified the F-B-I’s appeal for assistance by sharing the surveillance materials and encouraging the public to help identify the individual.

As the search for Nancy drags into its tenth tense day, investigators are zeroing in on a chilling clue hidden in plain sight: the suspect’s walk. According to former CIA officer and FBI special agent Tracy Walder, the individual’s gait could prove critical in identifying them.
While she noted that the walk was not dramatically distinctive, she suggested it was the kind of detail federal investigators routinely analyze — subtle movement patterns that can act almost like a fingerprint.

Tracy also pointed out what she described as a surprising oversight. Despite wearing a mask, the suspect’s eyes were clearly visible. She remarked that she was shocked the person had not used night vision glasses or some other covering to conceal them, potentially leaving behind another identifying feature.
With the released images, Tracy explained that the FBI can now begin building a physical profile of the suspect. Investigators can scrutinize everything from shoe labels and shoe size to estimates of gender, height, and weight — piecing together a composite from even the smallest visual fragments.

More chilling still is what the footage appears to reveal about intent. Tracy said the video suggests the kidnapping was highly planned. The individual arrived with a backpack and a weapon — details she believes indicate this was not a burglary gone wrong.
In her assessment, if the goal had been theft, the suspect would have brought bags to carry stolen goods. Instead, she believes Nancy herself was the clear target, and the footage underscores that conclusion.
At the same time, Tracy distinguished careful planning and professional expertise. She said she did not necessarily believe this was the work of a seasoned kidnapper or an organized ring operating for decades. Rather, she suggested it appeared to be someone who had a specific target in mind and planned the act as thoroughly as possible.
Meanwhile, body language expert Susan Constantine believes the footage offers even more revealing clues — even with the suspect’s face partially covered. After reviewing the newly recovered images, Susan said several physical details stood out immediately from a behavioral standpoint.
She observed that the jawline appeared puffy, which could suggest beard hair beneath the mask. She also noted the shape of the head and the absence of visible hair, raising the possibility that the individual may be bald.
The backpack, too, caught her attention. Susan said it appeared full — a detail she considers significant when assessing the level of preparation involved.

Even with a mask in place, she emphasized that investigators can still study the suspect’s eyes, body structure, proportions, and gait. All of those elements, she said, remain identifiable — and could ultimately be what cracks the case.
Following the release of the images, Savannah Guthrie addressed the case, sharing a message on social media as the search for her mother continues. In her post, the “TODAY” show co-anchor expressed hope, saying, “We believe she is still alive. Bring her home.”
In the same post, Savannah asked the public to come forward with any information, sharing contact details for the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
Federal authorities have not released information about Nancy’s current condition or the specific circumstances surrounding her disappearance. Investigators have confirmed only that her case is being treated as a kidnapping and that all available resources are being used to locate her safely.
Officials have also declined to confirm whether there has been any contact from those potentially involved in the case, emphasizing that releasing certain details prematurely could compromise the investigation. The FBI has stated that updates will be shared as appropriate.
As the search continues, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information related to the individual shown in the surveillance images and video. Anyone with relevant tips is encouraged to contact the FBI directly.

As previously reported, investigators believe the suspect may have tampered with the doorbell camera at Nancy Guthrie’s home around the time of her disappearance. Authorities have said the camera was found disabled, raising concerns that the individual intentionally attempted to prevent the incident from being recorded.
Law enforcement officials are now reviewing footage from nearby homes and businesses in an effort to reconstruct what happened after the doorbell camera stopped working. Investigators have described this as a key element of the case, as it may help clarify how and when Guthrie was taken.

Earlier reports also revealed that an alleged ransom note was discovered near Nancy’s residence. Authorities have not confirmed the authenticity of the note, but have acknowledged that it is being analyzed as part of the investigation.
According to those reports, the note referenced a financial demand and mentioned digital currency. Officials have declined to comment on the specific contents or whether any communication has been verified, stressing that releasing too much information could interfere with the investigation.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the evening of January 31, after being dropped off at her home by a family member. She was expected to attend a planned engagement the following day, but failed to appear.
When family members were unable to reach her, concerns escalated, and authorities were notified. Investigators later determined that her disappearance was suspicious, prompting the case to be treated as a possible kidnapping rather than a routine missing-person report.
Details surrounding her final known movements have remained central to the investigation, with authorities focusing on a narrow window of time between her arrival home and when she was reported missing.
As earlier coverage noted, law enforcement quickly expanded the scope of the investigation due to the circumstances surrounding Guthrie’s disappearance, including her age, the disabled camera, and the alleged ransom note. These factors contributed to the FBI’s involvement and the decision to release surveillance images to the public.

Federal officials have not released information about Guthrie’s current condition or confirmed whether there has been direct contact from those potentially involved. Authorities have emphasized that their primary focus remains on locating her safely.
The FBI continues to urge anyone who recognizes the individual shown in the surveillance images or video to come forward. Officials have reiterated that the suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and that the public should avoid any direct interaction.
Investigators have said updates will be provided as appropriate, but stressed that the investigation remains active and ongoing. For now, authorities say public awareness and cooperation remain critical. The FBI has reiterated that ensuring Nancy’s safe return remains the top priority as the search continues.
